Charif Arabe is an award‑winning chef and culinary professional born and raised in Fez, Morocco. Immersed from childhood in the city’s vibrant markets and timeless kitchen traditions, he developed a lifelong love for Moroccan culture, hospitality, and flavor. At fourteen, Charif moved to the United States, settling in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he began refining his craft in professional kitchens and translating the tastes of home for new audiences.
Today, Charif serves as Executive Chef at Frank’s in Pawleys Island, guiding a talented team while showcasing refined techniques and bold, soulful cuisine. His menus weave the aromas of saffron, preserved lemon, and char with the bounty of the Carolina coast, honoring heritage while embracing place. Throughout his career, Charif has earned recognition for excellence, leadership, and creativity, yet he remains driven by a simple goal: to share the beauty of Morocco—its people, food, and culture—with the world.
Whether curating tasting menus, mentoring young cooks, or collaborating on community events, Charif brings curiosity, discipline, and heart to every table. He believes food tells stories, bridges cultures, and builds belonging—and he strives, plate by plate, to make those stories unforgettable. His journey continues to inspire guests, peers, and aspiring chefs.
